VMAC Teams Up with Literacy Central Vancouver Island: Empowering the Community One Computer at a Time
VMAC Global Technology Inc., a Nanaimo-based manufacturer recognized for its innovative mobile air compressor systems and strong community values, is proud to announce its support for Literacy Central Vancouver Island through the ongoing donation of computers and equipment for the organization’s computer literacy programs.
The donation will directly support Literacy Central Vancouver Island’s Computer Refurbishing Program, which repairs and re-homes computers back into the community. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of Literacy Central Vancouver Island’s volunteers, refurbished computers are provided at no charge to families, students, non-profit organizations, and those in need. The program works closely with local schools and community agencies to ensure technology reaches the people who need it most.
In addition to refurbishing devices, Literacy Central Vancouver Island offers free one-on-one computer tutoring sessions, helping participants gain confidence with essential digital skills, such as using Microsoft Office, navigating online forms, and connecting with loved ones through video calls.
“Supporting Literacy Central Vancouver Island is an investment in our community’s future,” said Tod Gilbert, President of VMAC. “Access to technology, paired with the skills to use it, opens doors to education, employment, and personal independence. We’re proud to help make that possible for more people in our community.”
This initiative reflects VMAC’s long-standing commitment to supporting programs that empower individuals, strengthen connections, and create opportunities.
