Mechanical Assembler

The Position

Under the direction of a Supervisor, responsibilities include:

  • Assemble new compressors, hoses, tanks, mechanical throttles, inlet valves and other mechanical components
  • Follow current Drawings and BOM’s when assembling product
  • Rebuild and repair products where required
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks
  • Improve efficiency and quality assembly processes
  • Capable of reading detailed assembly drawings
  • Follow Production Schedule and prioritize daily work accordingly – communicate any bottlenecks or flow problems to your supervisor
  • Test and identify all assembled Products where required
  • Liaise with VMAC internal department in a timely manner to ensure adequate supply of parts.
  • Report on scrap, stock damage, shrinkage and inventory inaccuracies
  • Monitor inventory levels and report on outages, low or overstock quantities
  • Ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing goods
  • Participate in periodic physical inventory counts
  • Participate in the development and implementation of department objectives

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Assertive self-starter and excellent work ethic.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy level with ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or college/vocational or technical training and experience
  • 1-3 Years of experience in relevant field
  • General mechanic knowledge an asset
  • Capable of reading detailed assembly drawings
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Valid WHMIS certification
  • Lean Manufacturing at a working level
  • Valid Forklift certification an asset

Machine Operator

The Position:
Reporting to the Machining Supervisor this position is responsible for the set-up, operation and programming of CNC Machining Centers and/or Turning Centers. A good mechanical aptitude is required. Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Operate and perform minor maintenance on CNC Machining Centers and Turning Centers
  • Manual deburring all components produced on the machines
  • Follow drawings and measure all parts coming off the machines.
  • Capable of multitasking.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks
  • Improve efficiency and quality of processes, products, fixtures and programs
  • Follow Production Schedule/Kanban and prioritize daily work accordingly – communicate bottlenecks and flow problems with your supervisor
  • Understand and follow the “Pull” type systems in current use
  • Safety conscious

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Work experience or Post-Secondary education.
  • Experience with Doosan and/or Haas Vertical/Horizontal Machining centers and/or Turning Centers considered an asset
  • WHMIS certification considered as an asset • Lean Manufacturing at a working level considered an asset
  • Valid Forklift certification considered an asset
  • Mastercam and Solid Works experience considered an asset.
  • Red Seal Machinist certification considered an asset.

Junior Accountant

The Position:
VMAC is looking for a Junior Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for providing accounting services. This includes recording and reporting periodic financial results. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of all financial transactions in a multi-currency environment
  • Process daily transactions and administer accounts as assigned
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and make adjusting journal entries as required
  • Process other routine accounting transactions as required
  • Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts and financial reports as assigned
  • Assist in preparing timely and accurate monthly and yearly financial internal and external reporting including preparing working papers and adjusting journal entries
  • Actively participate in team and corporate continuous improvement training and initiatives
  • Analyze financial information and provide support to department managers in understanding financial results
  • Develop new working papers, reports and analyses and interpret results as required
  • Document standard work instructions and suggest process improvements
  • Assist in working with external auditors in preparing annual audited financial statements
  • Act as a backup for other finance team functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • 3+ years’ related work experience including hands-on general ledger reconciliations
  • Post-secondary education with a focus in accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of financial accounting principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficient Excel skills
  • Working towards or currently hold a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a public accounting firm is preferred
  • Related accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience working with and understanding an ERP system is preferred
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
